The production house of Serampas Coffee stands among the local people’s houses in Rantau Kermas Village, Jangkat District, Merangin Regency, Jambi. It is one of the village owned businesses (BUMDes) of Rantau Kermas which was formed in 2015 by a group which managed the customary forest. BUMDes and custom forest are KKI Warsi’s program supported by TFCA Sumatera which monitored and assisted by Pundi Sumatera.

Jangkat is one of sub districts in Merangin regency which is adjacent to Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS). Its located on the western part of Jambi province and directly bounded with Bengkulu province. Mount Masurai has made the surrounding land fertile and the most types of soil in Jangkat are andosols, whereas farmers here rely it on their livelihoods. As time goes by, due to the green revolution program of new order government the fertile land now is getting critical, and the population growth in Jangkat has increased as a result the community come to occupy the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park.
Two mats were laid out in the field, all children took a seat for the most comfortable positions which seemed like city people fulfilled a cinema studio. The cute children were shy and blushed while holding back their laughter, they intended to mention their name but their vocal cords seemed reluctant to vibrate. After the awkward atmosphere gradually melted away, the story began to flow.
