Jangkat is one of sub districts in Merangin regency which is adjacent to Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS). Its located on the western part of Jambi province and directly bounded with Bengkulu province. Mount Masurai has made the surrounding land fertile and the most types of soil in Jangkat are andosols, whereas farmers here rely it on their livelihoods.
