Women in remote villages on the edge of the forest, at the foot of the mountain, or on the beach are often perceived as people who are always oppressed, subject to patriarchal culture, simple and innocent in our society. Meanwhile in Lubuk Beringin village, one of the villages on the edge of the Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), which is part of Bungo district, Jambi Province, we find the different and interesting facts. We are about to meet a group of amazing women. With their simplicity, they have broken the myth about village Malay women who does not understand anything.
They might not understand and do not follow the debate on Gender EqualityThey might not know what a capital flight is. Even, it is impossible for them to know about theories and regulation about financial institutions. But without realizing, a reliable organization and a millionare group have been created by them.
“Yasinan” that is a moderate activity becoming into social gatherings. Then continued by developing it into strong financial institutions. With their capability, they are able to withstand the flow of capital out of the village for various common purposes. Even they have found the answers to the complicated questions of gender justice especially for the access to control the resources versus men.
