Suku Anak Dalam cadres receive social media management training
Pundi Sumatra, with the support of the Partnership, has provided assistance with the Social Inclusion approach and continues to strive to encourage involvement and acceptance by many parties in the traditional community. One of the negative stigmas given by the public is because the knowledge and understanding they have about this community is not complete and good enough. Also for the empowerment programs that have been carried out, as well as the good stories that have been generated due to program interventions; not yet widely known by the general public. In fact, these good stories and changes can shape public opinion which, if managed in effective communication products, can mobilize positive action and create a more inclusive situation for indigenous communities.

To manage the challenges of modernization and combine them into an opportunity to accelerate social inclusion, Pundi Sumatra in collaboration with KOMINFO Bungo district held Social Media Management training for cadres of the Anak Dalam Tribe assisted by Pundi Sumatra on 21 - 22 October 2023. This training aims to provide cadres with skills in using their smartphones to produce communication products that can introduce their life and culture to outsiders. Making this communication product can also promote the economic business activities that are being initiated so that they are better known and accepted.
Ten participants, consisting of SAD cadres and village youths, enthusiastically took part in the 2-day training. On the first day, KOMINFO Bungo, represented by Wahyu Riyadi as Director of LPPL (Local Public Broadcasting Institution) Radio Gema Bungo, delivered material regarding security and ethical issues in social media, including how to avoid cyber crime which is rife.
"In the current digital era, social media has become an important tool for promotion, branding and communicating with the public," said Wahyu that afternoon. Furthermore, Wahyu also conveyed several things that do not need to be shared on social media, such as personal data, personal problems, violence, SARA, hate speech or slander, and false information.
"We now have the ITE Law, from now on you have to be careful in writing statuses or distributing posts on Facebook or Instagram. "First think about the impact after we press the share button," explained Wahyudi.

On the second day, Rara Khushshoh Azzahro from AJI Jambi also became a training mentor. As a journalist from Tribun Jambi, Rara shares experiences and techniques as an actor in videos or content created for social media.
"While in front of the camera, don't be shy, because no one has the right to laugh at us. "Now everyone can earn income by becoming a content creator," said Rara.
After receiving the material, participants in pairs are asked to practice and produce interesting content that will be posted on social media accounts. They are given the freedom to create video content with any theme and be as creative as possible. From this training, at least four videos were produced and are suitable for publication on social media accounts. One video that is quite interesting is the video composed by Juliana, Siska, and Resa who chose jungle language in presenting the material in the video. According to him, using jungle language is one way to promote the culture of the Anak Dalam tribe. Meanwhile, the video content they create is about economic business activities being carried out by the community.

Even though this strategy is something new for them, this training can encourage and equip cadres to create short content as a way to promote and convey positive information about their community. The training ended with the commitment of all participants to be more active in creating positive content about SAD life and activities in an effort to encourage social inclusion, of course while still paying attention to ethics in social media.
