Not all young people have the space to be truly heard. Many of them want to express their opinions, but are still hesitant, shy, or afraid of making mistakes. From this concern, Pundi Sumatra and Indika Foundation organised a Youth Bootcamp and Intensive Course entitled \u2018Ruang Suara Pemuda Inklusi\u2019 (Inclusive Youth Voice Space) in collaboration with Gerak Dampak Academy. This event aimed to create a space for learning, meeting, and sharing for the young people of Jambi to discuss social issues together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On 6\u20137 September 2025, more than thirty young people from various universities and communities gathered at the Youth Bootcamp. Over two full days, they discussed important issues that are relevant to their daily lives: the political climate in Indonesia, unequal access to healthcare, a slowly fading culture, and the ongoing challenges of gender equality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At first, many participants were still awkward. Some chose to remain silent, while others were afraid that their opinions would be considered wrong. The hall at Muhammadiyah University in Jambi, where the activity took place, had a somewhat stiff atmosphere. However, the mood of the boot camp gradually changed as laughter filled the room during the introductions. The participants were divided into small groups to practise expressing their ideas and thoughts. Within these small groups, they were also given the freedom to speak.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Setelah itu, mereka diminta untuk melakukan presentasi singkat tentang hasil diskusi kelompok. Saling melempar pertanyaan dan argumen yang sebelumnya terasa sulit, kini mulai mengalir dengan lebih lancar. Beberapa peserta yang semula hanya diam, perlahan berani mengangkat tangan, menyampaikan pendapat, bahkan menanggapi argumen temannya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Suasana ruangan yang tadinya kaku berubah menjadi hidup. Ada yang berbeda pendapat, ada yang menguatkan, tapi semuanya dilakukan dengan saling menghargai. Dari proses itu, para peserta belajar bahwa berbicara bukan sekadar mengeluarkan suara, melainkan juga tentang mendengarkan, memahami, dan memberi ruang bagi pandangan orang lain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dari forum kecil ini lahir berbagai refleksi. Yusril misalnya, ia berpendapat bahwa politik haris dimulai sejak muda. \u201cKalau anak muda diam saja, jangan salahkan kalau keputusan politik selalu dibuat tanpa mempertimbangkan kita,\u201d tuturnya dengan lantang.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ada juga Alya yang berpendapat tentang kesehatan. Menurutnya kesehatan itu bukan cuma soal sakit atau obat, tapi soal siapa yang bisa dapat akses layanan. \u201cKalau masyarakat adat tidak bisa berobat karena jauh dari puskesmas, itu kembali lagi soal keadilan yang tidak mereka dapatkan,\u201d ujarnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sementara Nuraini mengingatkan pentingnya inklusi. \u201cPerempuan adat sering dianggap hanya pengikut. Padahal kalau mereka tidak bicara, separuh cerita komunitas bisa hilang.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Selama dua hari ini, para peserta mempelajari materi tentang Good Global Citizen dan konsep HARMONI. Kedua materi ini merujuk pada konsep untuk menciptakan warga negara yang memiliki kepekaan terhadap isu-isu penting dunia dan memiliki kemauan dan kemampuan berpartisipasi dalam kehidupan globalisasi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDari proses bootcamp ini, para pemuda belajar bahwa perubahan lahir dari kesadaran, keberanian untuk memahami, merasakan lebih dalam, dan bertindak lewat aksi nyata,\u201d tutur Tari selaku Manager Program Sudung PUNDI SUMATRA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Intensive Course: Mengurai Akar Masalah, Membangun Suara Pemuda<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n

Perjalanan tidak berhenti di bootcamp saja. Pada 14 dan 20 September 2025, para peserta yang terpilih diberi kesempatan untuk lanjut ke intensive course. Jika bootcamp membuka wawasan, kali ini mereka diajak masuk lebih dalam: mengurai akar masalah, menganalisis tantangan nyata, dan merumuskan gagasan perubahan. Para peserta dipersiapkan untuk menyusun rencana aksi yang bisa mereka lakukan saat berada di komunitas Suku Anak Dalam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Di sini, para pemuda dari komunitas Suku Anak Dalam Kabupaten Sarolangun juga ikut berpartisipasi, mereka adalah Nodi, Sarini, Etika, Nita, Natanael dan Juari. Para kader SAD dampingan PUNDI SUMATRA ini akan berbaur dengan para peserta dan menceritakan kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Para peserta bisa melakukan validasi ataupun menggali masalah-masalah yang masih dialami komunitas adat Jambi tersebut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Melalui metode pohon masalah, setiap kelompok mendiskusikan isu yang mereka anggap paling mendesak. Ada yang menyoroti pendidikan, karena masih banyak anak Suku Anak Dalam yang putus sekolah akibat keterbatasan biaya dan rendahnya kesadaran orang tua. Ada pula yang membahas kepemimpinan, di mana peran temenggung masih dominan sementara pemuda merasa kurang percaya diri untuk bersuara.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isu budaya juga menjadi perhatian, terutama karena modernisasi membuat generasi muda enggan belajar tradisi, sehingga ada risiko pengetahuan adat akan hilang. Dari sisi politik, peserta mencatat bahwa hak bersuara pemuda dan perempuan sering terpinggirkan, bahkan masih ada stereotip bahwa perempuan tidak layak memimpin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Di bidang kesehatan, persoalan semakin kompleks: minimnya akses layanan, kerusakan lingkungan, risiko stunting, hingga pernikahan dini. Sedangkan di ranah ketahanan pangan dan ekonomi, mereka menyoroti diskriminasi harga terhadap hasil pertanian komunitas serta keterbatasan lahan yang membuat usaha tani tidak mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Setelah mengidentifikasi masalah-masalah tersebut, para peserta diminta untuk menyusun rencana aksi yang lebih spesifik dan berdampak selama beberapa hari. Para peserta yang terpilih akan diikutsertakan dalam kegiatan Payo Bemalom Kito Bececakop yang akan digelar pada awal Oktober mendatang.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSaya berharap kegiatan bootcamp ini bisa menarik minat pemuda Jambi yang memang tertarik dengan isu perdamaian. Semoga saat aksi nyata di lapangan, komunitas SAD menerima dengan tangan terbuka pemuda-pemuda ini,\u201d tutup Tari. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t
