Pembentukan Kelompok Tani Sei Surian di Masyarakat Suku Anak Dalam Pulau Lintang

Formation of the Sei Surian Farmer Group in the Suku Anak Dalam Community of Pulau Lintang

As part of the efforts to empower Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) communities through the IPAF Cycle 6 programme, field facilitators facilitated the preparation and submission of the requirements for the Rombong Nurani Sungai Surian SAD Farmer Group to the Field Agricultural Extension Officer (PPL) of Pulau Lintang Village. This activity is the first step in supporting the SAD community to access various sustainable farming and agriculture programmes.

Located in Pulau Lintang Village, the administrative files collected in one folder consisted of 15 photocopies of Identity Cards (KTP) and Family Cards (KK). In addition, the facilitator also submitted the Minutes of the Establishment of the Rombong Nurani Sungai Suriyan SAD Farmer Group in a written form that had been adjusted to the direction of the PPL of Pulau Lintang Village. The document includes a list of administrators, members of the farmer group, as well as a list of attendance at the group-level deliberation which is an official sign of the formation of the farmer group.

The Field Agricultural Extension Officer said that the complete files will be immediately processed for the next stage of entering farmer group data into the Agricultural Extension Management Information System (SIMLUHTAN). This step is important so that the Sungai Suriyan Farmer Group can be officially recognised and gain access to various available farming and agricultural programmes. In addition, written documents of the farmer group also need to be submitted and endorsed by the Head of Pulau Lintang Village to strengthen the legality of the farmer group in the village institutional structure.

As a follow-up to this process, the faclap will continue to assist the farmer group in preparing the administrative files needed to obtain approval from the Pulau Lintang Village Government. This assistance is in line with the objectives of the IPAF Cycle 6 programme implemented by Pundi Sumatera, which is to empower SAD communities to be more independent in managing their farming and agricultural resources.

With this assistance, it is hoped that the Rombong Nurani Sungai Surian SAD Farmer Group can further develop and receive wider support to improve community welfare through the sustainable farming and agriculture sector.
